Tiki-Toki Timelines

Despite the somewhat strange name — it always reminds me of the Toucan’s name In George of the Jungle — this cloud tool does some pretty amazing things.  I decided to craft an Instructional Design timeline in this format.

When you click on the image below, you’ll be brought to the timeline.  There will probably be an info card displaying;  X out of that, then press the small 3-D button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.  Doing so will dramatically change the look of the timeline. You can scroll forward and past in time by using the scroller on your mouse pad.  When you arrive at an interesting looking item, click on it and an info card will appear.  In these cards, you can place text, links, images, audio, and videos.

If you look across the very bottom of the screen, you’ll see a plain-looking timeline with colored dots on it.  Each dot represents an entry into the timeline.  Notice how few dots are on the left side of the timeline, versus the numerous dots on the right…  Our profession is now growing by leaps and bounds! As you scroll forward through time, you’ll see more and more events, persons, and models appearing.
